Music in Action: a musical event
Posted on August 19, 2009 by Roc Lee
I should have put this up on the website much sooner but things got crazy in the past month and it slipped my mind.
For the past month I have been planning a recital in conjunction with the CUA Student Composer's and other students from CUA. I am happy to say that things have come together quite nicely. We had a group rehearsal today on an arrangement of Terry Riley's In C and Louis Andriessen's Worker's Union that I was afraid would be really weird, but it came together and its going to be really cool.
The recital is entitled "Music in Action" and I hope to make it an annual benefit recital in support of an organization, issue, or idea. This year we've invited National Community Church to come and talk about their plans for starting a Dream Center in the area around the Waterfront Metro Station. It is a very exciting idea and I hope that you will be able to come and learn more.
The event is going to take place Aug. 21, 2009, Friday 7:30pm in the Parish Hall of Christ Church Washington Parish near Eastern Market
620 G Street SE | Washington, DC 20003
