The Community Currency Online Resource is part of a community arts project sponsored by Provisions Library in collaboration with the Floating Lab Collective.  The goal of this resource is to document the Community Currency movement in the United States through images and stories that capture the voice and vitality of communities with the vision and courage to take charge of their social development by encouraging meaningful economic interactions.  The images and information on this website were gathered by Roc Lee from sources around the internet and a survey instrument sent to Community Currency systems across the United States.

Its library and online services are a trusted source for alternative perspectives on a wide range of social change topics and its innovative exhibitions and public projects strongly engage the arts as a powerful means of exploring social issues.

About Floating Lab Collective

“Floating Lab Collective” is a group of metropolitan DC-based artists working collectively on performances, media art and research. The main idea is to expand the space of art into public space and to expand the discourse about contemporary art. The participating artists are a dynamic and flexible group that expands and contracts in size depending on the piece to be executed. The pieces are labeled as (e)xperiments, and they focus on different aspects of our society (political, economic, social, etc…)
